"Savoie takes from tradition and moves it forward... It's what an artist should do and ultimately is what separates art from pure craft."

Michael Monroe, former curator Renwick Museum Smithsonian Institution,
Washington D.C.

"Savoie is a Master"

Paul Stankard International Glass artist

"Savioe's use of color and pattern is like no other. They are exquisite like Faberge eggs"

Mark Leach Curator Mint Museum Charlotte North Carolina

"American glass master Charles Savoie is in a class of his own in creating superb pieces of glass art. He has worked for over 30 years in his craft, refining his skills creating exquisite goblets using 17th century venetian techniques. His work draws from the old but in my mind is very contemporary. They are refined yet retain a sense of whimsey and have a wonderful celebratory nature.
Charles is a Wisconsin based artist that has studied and taught extensively all over the world holding 2 masters degrees. He has worked in glass at such divers places as Italy and taught at the University of Sydney in Australia. His work is also owned by such notable Museums as the Smithsonian institution, The Montreal museum of Art, and the Museum of art and design in New York.
When talking with him his passion for his work is very evident. It is rare in this day that one finds someone so devoted to detail that he literally makes all his own material starting with sand. Using century old glass formulas for there "richness of color and there ability to hold there line impeccably"  he says. When one looks at the pieces and holds them it is evident that his efforts have payed off. I have never seen anything like them. His artistry is superb, in my book a must see."
